| Businesses and indivduals who use CMRAs** (commercial mail receiving agencies such as US Pak-N-Ship or similar retail establishments) will have until April 26, 2000, for CMRA customers to include PMB, for private mail box, in their mailing address. This provision is part of the fraud prevention efforts of the USPS. |
| Also acceptable forms of identification to rent PMBs will be required of all CMRA's. Acceptable identification from the customer renting the box do not include social security numbers and credit cards. |
| **Definition: CMRAs are private businesses that provide a mailing address and "post office" box for their customers. Mail is delivered by the Postal Service to the CMRA, which then distributes the mail to the customer's private mailbox. |
